Registry Process FAQ
When is the best time for us to register?
Ideally, we love to have you in our registry system by the time your Save-the-date cards go out. People really do begin looking at gifts, and making travel arrangements once they are made aware of your wedding date. That said, it’s never too late to open a registry with us!
Should I make an appointment, or just pop by?
We love if you have an appointment. We like to be sure that someone on our registry team is available and ready to give you their undivided attention. We want you to feel special and welcome, and having a designated time set aside for that is always best.
Who should I bring with me for my appointment?
Creating a registry is not a “The more the merrier” moment. It is for you and your groom, or you and one or two other special people. We have such an array of beautiful things, that having too many opinions can tend to distract from being able to create a cohesive registry. We always encourage you to take pictures to share later with any family members not included in the initial appointment.
Can I get registered in one visit, or do I need to come in more than once?
The majority of our registrants take about an hour to complete their registries. If you are a local bride, and you prefer to come pre-look, and come back with firmed up decisions, that will definitely work. We love having brides visit us any time throughout the registry process.
Can I register myself online?
Of course! But we love meeting you in person, and making you really feel welcome and a part of our Boutique family of brides.
What if I change my mind between the time I register and the time I’m actually ready to order?
That is absolutely fine with us! The majority of your gifts will be in gift card form. That means that after your wedding, when you’re ready to place your final order with us, that you may certainly use your store credit on whatever you like!
I’ve registered for china, but then I inherited some, so now what?
Use your credit toward other things! Get some beautiful bedding! Or fresh towels for every bathroom in your new home! We also have full home decor lines, like Chelsea House, where you can select furniture, lamps, or anything from our offerings
What if someone really wants to get me an actual gift?
We are happy to accommodate those requests! In most instances they come from close family members and friends, who really put in a lot of effort to get you something special, so we usually recommend you keep those special gifts, rather than try to exchange them. We can also check with you first though to be sure it’s something you will love! And we aim to be sure that everyone is happy
How long do I have to place my final order?
You have one year from your wedding date to redeem your store credit. Gifts tend to roll in, even after your wedding, so we recommend you wait a month or so prior to making your final selections
Should I make an appointment to “Settle Up”?
We always recommend you make an appointment for something as important as this! If you’re not able to come back in in person, we can always accommodate phone or email orders.
How do I assure I only get the items I want?
When you place your order with us, we have a very detailed system. You let us know what you would like, and we follow that up with a detailed estimate for your review. We let you know the cost of those items, and any overages or remaining credit amounts, each time you order with us. We want to be sure you only get the things you want.
What if I can’t come in, but want to review some things?
The Boutique is high-tech! We can video call you from our store, or send images for your consideration.
